Areas of Expertise

Dr. Frogge practices in three primary areas — general cardiology, interventional cardiology, and structural cardiology.

General Cardiology

General cardiology involves preventing, diagnosing, and treating all forms of heart disease.

Commonly experienced symptoms include palpitations, chest pain, shortness of breath.

Diagnoses include high cholesterol, high blood pressure, arrhythmias, coronary artery disease (heart attacks), heart failure, and valvular heart disease.

Testing includes echocardiography, stress testing, and heart rhythm monitoring.

Interventional Cardiology

Interventional cardiology is the practice of diagnosing and performing procedures to treat coronary artery disease (heart attacks), pericardial disease, and heart failure.

Testing includes coronary angiography, left heart catheterization, and right heart catheterization.

Structural Cardiology

Structural cardiology involves diagnosing and performing procedures to treat disorders of the heart valves (aortic stenosis, aortic regurgitation, mitral regurgitation, mitral stenosis, tricuspid regurgitation).

Structural cardiology also includes disorders of the walls or chambers of the heart (atrial septal defects, patent foramen ovale, ventricular septal defects).

Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI or Coronary Stents)

Opens blockages of the coronary arteries.

WATCHMAN or Amulet Procedure
